About the Role
Brent Council is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and dynamic community. We are currently seeking a passionate Participation Support Officer to join our team and help children and young people have their voices heard. You will support the participation team in actively involving young people in the governance, evaluation, and improvement of council services. This includes supporting young people to share their views in council meetings and running creative co-design projects to enhance services.

You will assist in delivering participation sessions and activities with groups such as Brent Youth Parliament. These sessions typically take place in person during after school hours, weekends, and school holidays.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Brent’s transformation agenda and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in the borough.

Experience
Experience working with children and young people in group settings is essential. Knowledge of youth participation principles and practice is required.

You are passionate about supporting children and young people to engage in participation activities and have their voices heard. You are reliable, enthusiastic, and able to work flexibly to meet the needs of participation groups, including evenings, weekends, school holidays, and occasional overnight trips.
