About the Role
Brent Council is seeking three Sessional Participation Workers to help children and young people in care have their voices heard. Brent is a vibrant London borough with a rich history of ethnic and cultural diversity, spanning both inner and outer London. The council is undergoing a transformation agenda to better meet community needs, making this an exciting time to join us.
In this role, you will work with the Participation Team to run group sessions and activities that provide young people in care the opportunity to share their views and influence service improvements. You will help plan and deliver fun, creative activities where young people feel safe, listened to, and valued.
Your lived experience as someone who has been in care will be vital in ensuring that decisions affecting young people are made with their voices at the centre. Your perspective will help shape Brent’s Participation Offer and support others to confidently express themselves.

This role is only open to candidates who have lived experience of being in care as a child or young person. Understanding what it is like to grow up in the care system is essential.
About you
You are passionate about supporting children and young people in care and care deeply about helping others. You have ideas for fun and engaging group activities and are able to build positive relationships and act as a good role model.
