About the Role
Passenger Transport Services are seeking dedicated Passenger Transport Drivers to safely transport children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and vulnerable adults to and from schools and day centres. This rewarding role plays a vital part in ensuring some of our most vulnerable residents travel safely, comfortably and on time. Working as part of a professional transport team, you will be responsible for operating council vehicles safely, carrying out daily vehicle checks, assisting passengers when required, and maintaining excellent relationships with parents, carers, schools and service users. Full mandatory training is provided, including emergency evacuation, securing passengers and wheelchairs, manual handling, epilepsy awareness, first aid and safeguarding.
Experience
Previous experience is not explicitly required; however, a caring, patient and professional approach is essential.
About you
A valid D1 driving licence is required. You must have good communication skills and the ability to work sensitively and respectfully with children and vulnerable adults. Commitment to delivering a safe and reliable transport service is essential. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
