About the Role
Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops and manages relationships with high net worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation strategies tailored to each client’s risk tolerance, while providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services, including private banking and trust company services.
The Investment Strategy Group (ISG), within the Asset & Wealth Management Division of Goldman Sachs, provides customized asset allocation solutions to help clients preserve and grow their wealth. The main responsibility of this role is to develop customized asset allocation solutions and analysis for clients. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team and private wealth advisors to gather client information, analyze portfolios, produce tailored asset allocation solutions, and prepare analysis for presentations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing customized asset allocation solutions using ISG’s asset allocation model
- Generating customized research reports and presentations for clients
- Assisting with research related to asset allocation issues and individual asset classes
- Providing asset allocation guidance to the Private Wealth Management team
- Performing general business duties such as maintaining presentations, data, and meeting records
Experience
Master’s degree in Finance with a quantitative focus such as financial mathematics, quantitative finance, financial engineering, or financial econometrics. Strong interest in financial markets and good investment sense. Knowledge of current academic research and industry practices is expected.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms. Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for client engagement. Detail-oriented, patient, and able to multitask under pressure. Collaborative and teamwork-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and exercise good judgment. Independent, logical, and critical thinker with a willingness to innovate.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python preferred), along with solid Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Highly motivated and eager to learn. Proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage.
Qualifications
Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills with a minimum undergraduate degree in a STEM or quantitative field such as Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Computer Science. An undergraduate degree in Economics is acceptable if combined with a quantitative postgraduate degree in Finance.
