About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and beyond. This role is integral to implementing the NHS LPP vision and strategy, aiming to establish NHS LPP as a world-class procurement partner for the NHS and the wider public sector.
The Procurement Business Partner East will be the primary procurement interface between NHS LPP and East London member Trusts, delivering first-line procurement advice and support through regular face-to-face engagement at member Trust sites. This fast-paced and influential role involves driving uptake of NHS LPP routes to market, products, and services, supporting value for money procurement processes, and delivering cost improvement plan (CIP) savings and efficiencies.
The postholder will also promote NHS LPP’s strategic public sector affiliates and support non-member NHS Trusts and wider public sector organisations as required. This role requires strong stakeholder relationship management, a deep understanding of public sector procurement, and a commitment to delivering best-in-class procurement services that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
Experience
- Extensive public sector procurement experience including strategic sourcing, above threshold tendering, spend analytics, catalogue purchasing, and framework call-offs
- Proven track record of delivering CIP savings and meeting savings targets
- Strong knowledge of public procurement legislation and regulations
- Experience in analytics and management reporting
- Customer service experience and stakeholder management within the public sector
- Desirable: Experience working for an accredited NHSE framework host and/or within a Trust procurement team
Qualifications
- Essential: Professional procurement qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or significant equivalent procurement experience demonstrated through proven delivery
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Desirable: Prince 2 qualification or equivalent experience
