We are seeking a Strategic Analyst Manager for a 12-month maternity leave cover to support our strategy of becoming a truly data-centric organisation. You will lead and project manage small teams of analysts to provide insightful data analysis for procurement managers across London and nationally. Your expertise in reporting and analytical tools such as Power BI, Excel, and preferably Azure, Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and data warehousing will be essential.
You will design and present analytical products that deliver actionable insights to reduce costs, improve compliance, and enhance internal processes. This role requires excellent communication skills to engage with internal and senior external stakeholders including NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, regional procurement hubs, NHSE/I, and DHSE.
Following current remote working legislation, the post holder will be expected to visit member organisations mainly in London and occasionally attend meetings nationwide.
Main Duties
Manage the function and programme, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Transfer expertise on innovation internally and to senior stakeholders through briefings and training. Support matrix working to achieve LPP objectives. Motivate, inspire, and develop staff, including recruitment, appraisal, and employee relations. Oversee multiple functions and corporate responsibilities within the team. Develop and manage BI and analytics projects that convert data into actionable information, automate processes where possible, and deliver regular business intelligence reports to end users.

Detailed Responsibilities
The post holder will lead local and national procurement reporting, support national finance and procurement data projects, and engage with national bodies. Familiarity with NHS procurement initiatives and category knowledge is expected. The role involves consulting with member trusts to support data-driven procurement decisions and presenting the analytics team as a professional centre of excellence.
Experience
- Significant experience providing analytical support to finance and procurement professionals
- Managing BI projects and teams of at least 2-3 staff
- Reporting, business case development, client relationship management, and data presentation
- Desirable: At least four years’ experience in NHS IM&T/Informatics or procurement or a large organisation with analytics service experience

Qualifications
