About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to Europe’s largest dental school, a £160 million Cancer Centre, and Evelina London Children’s Hospital, among other leading facilities. We are committed to delivering high quality, safe, and patient-centred care, supported by a motivated and engaged workforce of over 23,500 staff.
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit two permanent and one fixed-term Assistant General Manager (AGM) within the Specialist Ambulatory Medical Services (SAMS) Directorate. The fixed-term postholder will commence on 11th May 2026, with secondment arrangements agreed with their line manager.
The AGM roles combine operational and strategic leadership within their specialties, strengthening operational grip, driving performance, supporting workforce planning, and delivering key transformation priorities. AGMs will provide day-to-day leadership and operational resilience across high-activity services with complex pathways, line managing Service Managers, deputising for Deputy General Managers, and working closely with the wider Service Management Team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for current AGMs seeking to broaden their NHS experience or Service Managers ready to advance their leadership journey.
