About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and beyond. The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, high quality teaching, and world-leading research, including dedicated clinical research facilities and a Phase I clinical trials unit. The Research and Development (R&D) department is seeking an experienced R&D Performance Manager to join a dynamic, lively, and diverse team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing data management systems to ensure the Trust meets its research reporting requirements. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, experience maintaining databases, and the ability to present complex data clearly to senior staff and boards. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in one of the UK's most active research hospitals within a friendly and supportive environment.

The post-holder will oversee the Trust's research performance by working closely with research matrons and managers across clinical directorates to understand their research portfolios. They will support the central R&D team in managing study set-up workloads through effective tracking on the central database (EDGE). Keeping up to date with national research initiatives such as NIHR, RDN, and Department of Health performance metrics is essential. The role requires clear written and verbal communication of reports to committees and teams.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the data and performance team while working autonomously and managing their time productively. The role requires attendance at the R&D office at Guy's Hospital three days per week, with flexible working arrangements considered.

The post-holder will ensure R&D Directors have the necessary data for strategic decisions and support the R&D Governance Manager in managing governance functions and the central R&D database. Responsibilities include leading internal and external reporting, developing the Trust-wide Power BI Research Dashboard, analyzing complex data trends, forecasting implications, and submitting national research performance metrics to relevant bodies.
