About the Role
Are you someone who thrives on turning ideas into action? Do you enjoy solving complex problems, bringing people together and creating clarity where there is ambiguity?

The City of London Corporation's Trade & Investment team sits at the heart of efforts to promote the UK internationally as a leading destination for investment and business. We work with government, industry and partners across the UK and around the world to attract investment, support economic growth and strengthen the UK's position as a global financial and professional services centre. Our work spans strategic partnerships, international engagement, investment promotion and high-profile initiatives designed to deliver real economic impact.

We're looking for a Programme Manager who is as comfortable making things happen as they are making plans.

This isn't a role focused solely on governance, reporting or process. We're looking for someone who can bring structure to complexity, connect the dots across multiple workstreams and help drive projects from concept to delivery.

You'll work across a varied portfolio of programmes and initiatives, collaborating with colleagues, senior leaders and external partners to deliver outcomes that support UK growth and international competitiveness. No two days are the same. One day you might be helping shape a new strategic initiative, the next unblocking a delivery challenge, coordinating stakeholders around a shared objective, or supporting preparations for a high-profile engagement involving business and government leaders.

You’ll be part of a collaborative Programmes Team that works flexibly across the wider Trade & Investment team, supporting colleagues to turn priorities into well-coordinated delivery.

Requirements

Experience
Proven track record of delivering results in a complex environment. Experience leading and coordinating high-profile projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders is essential.

About you
You are a proactive self-starter with excellent judgement. You enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and helping others succeed. Naturally collaborative, you build relationships quickly and are confident working with senior stakeholders.

You create clarity where others see ambiguity, take initiative to improve delivery, and are politically astute, able to navigate competing priorities with confidence and professionalism.

You enjoy connecting people, ideas and activity to achieve common goals. You balance strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into delivery. You stay calm and organised when managing multiple priorities.

An interest in trade, investment, economic growth and the factors that help the UK compete internationally is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Not explicitly stated, but relevant experience and skills in programme management, stakeholder engagement and strategic delivery are expected.
