About the Role
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for administering criminal, civil, and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. Our mission is to deliver justice effectively and efficiently, helping people and businesses access justice.
Within the HMCTS Change Directorate, you will manage a dynamic portfolio of 20–30 projects designed to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility of our services. As a Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate project teams, managing day-to-day delivery of projects or workstreams to ensure objectives are met within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.

Key responsibilities include defining and documenting project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; identifying and managing project dependencies and critical paths; developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, and presentations; monitoring budgets including supplier statements of work and timesheets; and executing project lifecycles in accordance with in-house processes and government standards.

Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects or defined workstreams within larger programmes, including planning, tracking, and reporting progress.
- Ability to manage risks, issues, and dependencies effectively to keep delivery on track.
- Experience working with stakeholders to deliver agreed outcomes, handling challenges and escalating appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards in structured environments.
- Experience producing clear, concise written outputs such as reports, briefings, or business case contributions.
- Working knowledge of project governance and approval processes.
