About the Role
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for administering criminal, civil, and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. Our mission is to deliver justice effectively and efficiently, helping people and businesses access justice. The HMCTS Change Directorate manages a dynamic portfolio of 20–30 projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility of our services.

As a G7 Project Manager, you will lead and manage complex projects or groups of projects, including associated business change activities, on a day-to-day basis. You will drive delivery to ensure objectives are met within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints. Your role will include establishing governance and assurance processes, monitoring progress, risks and issues, and ensuring business readiness for change.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to broaden your experience, strengthen your skills, and make a meaningful impact across multiple areas of the organisation. We seek individuals driven by public service who thrive in dynamic environments and want their work to make a real difference in delivering a more accessible and effective justice system.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record managing delivery of multiple medium complexity projects or serving as a specialist/work strand lead within larger complex projects.
- Demonstrable experience leading end-to-end delivery of complex projects with multidisciplinary teams, delivering outcomes within agreed time, cost, and quality constraints.
- Proven experience setting, managing, and forecasting project budgets, working effectively with commercial colleagues and external suppliers.
- Strong understanding of project delivery approaches including planning, governance, risk and issue management, and use of structured methodologies.
- Experience building and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including senior leaders and project sponsors, with ability to influence decisions and maintain stakeholder confidence.
- Experience leading and supporting teams to deliver project outcomes, including setting direction, managing performance, and fostering a positive collaborative environment.
- Experience developing high-quality business cases and leading them through governance and approval processes to ensure projects deliver value for money and intended benefits.

About you
You are motivated by public service and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You demonstrate visible leadership and have the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. You are organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality project outcomes.

Qualifications
There are no specific formal qualifications required; however, candidates should demonstrate competencies aligned with the Government Project Delivery Framework at G7 level. Experience and evidence of leadership in complex project delivery is essential.
