About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
How You’ll Be Involved
We are looking for two Public Health Assistant Strategists to work in this cross-cutting strategic role which will provide wide opportunities for developing a public health career. One position will work within our Children and Young People team and the other in our Long-Term Conditions team. Within the Children and Young People team, you will focus on and support the development and implementation of strategy and interventions which contribute to improvements in the overall health and wellbeing of children and young people within Camden. Within the Long-Term Conditions team, you will look to maximise the population benefits of health services in Camden and reduce health inequalities, by supporting strategic work on the prevention, early detection and optimal management of long-term conditions. In both teams, these roles will collaborate with residents and a diverse range of partners, including the Council, NHS, Integrated Care System, service providers, and the Community and Voluntary Sector, to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based strategies and programs. Your goal is to improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities, and promote equity for Camden residents.
Experience
The ideal candidates will have relevant experience and/or training in public health or equivalent, such as a suitable postgraduate qualification in public health. Ideally you will have proven experience of using project management skills and have knowledge of public health methodologies to support the development and implementation of policies, programmes, services and strategies.
About you
You will be able to build an excellent rapport and relationship with residents and people using services, as well as have the ability to work with a range of partners, using public health intelligence and negotiation skills to support the development of evidence-based and locally appropriate innovative ways of working. Working with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences will mean you have a high standard of communication, along with a high standard of report writing which will be demonstrated with your ability to write and contribute to reports of varying length and complexity.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in public health or equivalent are preferred.
