About the Role
Join Camden’s Public Health Intelligence team and help transform how we use data to improve lives. We are seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer passionate about public health, data innovation, and driving real-world change. This unique role sits at the intersection of public health, data engineering, and analytics, enabling evidence-based decisions that improve population health and reduce inequalities. You will contribute to ambitious initiatives such as Raise Camden, building linked, longitudinal records to better understand child wellbeing, and the Estates Mission, which uses integrated data to improve services for those with the greatest need. Your work will directly influence how Camden supports its communities.

Key responsibilities include designing scalable, secure, and reproducible data pipelines that integrate diverse datasets from clinical records to housing and education; aligning Camden’s health data with corporate models and virtualisation platforms like Denodo to ensure consistency and interoperability; building dimensional models and intuitive tools to unlock insights for analysts, policymakers, and frontline teams; developing trusted stakeholder relationships to lead complex data projects while navigating governance barriers; designing innovative approaches to link and analyse datasets with limited interoperability; and guiding analysts in software development best practices using R, Python, SQL, and Git.

This is a permanent role based in London, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on public health through data-driven innovation.

Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in data analysis, data science, or data engineering.
- Strong skills in SQL, data modelling, and experience with virtualisation technologies such as Denodo or similar.

- Knowledge of public health data, NHS data systems, clinical coding standards (ICD-10, SNOMED-CT), and public sector data governance.
- Proven ability to translate complex data needs into clear deliverables while managing competing stakeholder priorities.
- Experience leading complex data projects and overcoming data governance challenges.

About you
- Passionate about public health and data innovation.
- Proactive and collaborative mindset focused on improving the use of data and information.
- Strong communication skills to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to ethical data use and governance in the public sector.

Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in data analysis, data science, computer science, public health, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if professional experience is demonstrated.
