About the Role
As a Temporary Accommodation Supply Officer, you will negotiate the best financial deals to secure a sustainable and cost-effective supply of properties, ensuring that we meet the needs of individuals and families requiring temporary housing solutions. You will act as a key liaison between the Council and property providers to build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents, and property owners to increase the supply of available temporary housing. Your responsibilities will include carrying out inspections of properties to assess their suitability for households in housing need, ensuring all properties meet Health and Safety requirements and legislation. Additionally, you will help expand and diversify our existing temporary accommodation supplier list and establish new emergency accommodation service providers, negotiating best prices and obtaining value for money.

Additional Information
The postholder will be based at 5 Pancras Square, however, the nature of the role requires visits and inspections to properties located within and outside Camden borough. Some home working may be available in agreement with your line manager.

Experience
Experience working in a busy housing environment or equivalent is required. An understanding of the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII, along with the ability to draw upon relevant housing caselaw, is essential. Knowledge of the Council’s Housing Allocations Scheme is also expected.

You will be proactive and able to negotiate effectively with a range of stakeholders including landlords, agents, and property owners. You should be comfortable undertaking property inspections and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. The role requires flexibility to travel within and outside the borough. You will be committed to delivering excellent service to vulnerable individuals and families in housing need.
Qualifications
GCSE ‘A’ Level, NVQ Level, or equivalent experience is required.
