About the Role
As the Housing Needs Review & Improvement Manager, you will lead Camden Council’s housing review service, overseeing statutory reviews and legal challenges under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996. This strategic leadership role involves managing and developing a team of review officers, championing service improvement, and shaping policy in response to legal precedent and resident feedback. You will represent the Council in court, liaise with legal teams, and ensure decisions are legally robust and compliant.
You will work closely with legal services, housing teams, elected members, and the ombudsman. Additionally, you will lead on data analysis, training, and quality assurance, using insights to strengthen delivery across the housing service. This role is key to driving improvement across Camden’s housing services and ensuring access to safe, secure, and sustainable homes for all residents.

Experience
Substantial experience in housing, homelessness, or legal services is essential. Strong knowledge of Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and related case law is required. Experience representing an organisation in legal proceedings and producing high-quality written decisions is important.
Proven leadership experience including managing staff, guiding performance, and improving service standards is expected.

Qualifications
