About the Role
Camden Council is undergoing significant internal transformation to improve life for all residents, driving radical social change and ensuring no one is left behind. The Capital Works Projects team, part of Property Management, delivers strategic, multi-discipline capital projects across Camden's property portfolio.
As the M&E Project Manager, you will work closely with the Programme Manager to oversee and deliver a diverse range of mechanical and electrical engineering projects valued between £4 million and £10 million annually. Your responsibilities will include managing district heating system upgrades, lift replacement programmes, door entry system replacements, and electrical upgrades, with a strong focus on social housing projects.
This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and social aspects of M&E projects, ensuring successful delivery within the unique context of social housing environments.
Experience
Significant experience in construction project management and/or project delivery with a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical (M&E) engineering principles. Proven knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and leaseholder management including consultation and service charge arrangements. Experience in procurement processes related to construction, repairs, and maintenance services focused on M&E systems.
Expertise in energy efficiency and sustainability modelling, including renewable technologies such as solar photovoltaic systems and heat pumps. Familiarity with ISO, British and PAS Standards, and Building Regulations is essential.
Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and positive resident engagement. Experience managing design and specialist professional teams is required.
