About the Role
This strategic and operational role is focused on managing Camden’s fire safety assets across its property portfolio. You will oversee fire protection and detection systems including alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors, and sprinkler systems, ensuring they are regularly maintained, repaired, and compliant with all relevant standards.
You will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and partners to proactively manage fire safety risks, support mitigation actions following Fire Risk Assessments, and maintain accurate compliance data. Your work will be key to delivering the ‘Golden Thread’ of building safety information.
Ultimately, you will help ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and staff in Camden’s buildings, supporting the council’s commitment to safety, transparency, and responsible building management.
This post requires an Enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
Experience
- Strong understanding of fire safety systems and compliance responsibilities
- Experience managing fire assets within housing or property services
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Proven experience managing maintenance and repairs of fire protection and detection systems
- Confident working with contractors and technical suppliers to deliver safe, compliant outcomes
