About the Role
Camden Council is committed to building a borough where everyone can thrive. We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities within Camden’s Gas Servicing and Maintenance service. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end purchasing process including raising orders, coordinating suppliers, auditing invoices, and monitoring stock. You will ensure that teams have the right materials at the right time to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality services to Camden’s residents.
You will work closely with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues across the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) teams to ensure compliance with Camden’s procurement policies while driving value for money and operational efficiency.

Experience
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination, ideally within maintenance, construction, or a direct labour organisation.
- Strong financial accuracy skills including invoice auditing and reconciliation.
- Experience managing suppliers and procurement processes effectively.
About you
- Organised and detail-focused with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency with finance/procurement systems and Excel.
Desirable
- Familiarity with gas servicing or M&E materials.
- Experience in the public sector or working within contract frameworks.
- Knowledge of housing/property management systems such as NEC or ROCC.
- CIPS Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards it.
