About the Role
Camden Council is seeking HCPC registered Educational Psychologists or Year 3 trainees anticipating registration to join our innovative and vibrant Educational Psychology Service (EPS). You will work within a Central London borough committed to radical social change and inclusive practice. The EPS has expanded its capacity building work in Trauma Informed Practice and inclusive education, collaborating with the Autism Education Trust and Partnership in Neurodiversity in Schools (PiNS). You will deliver psychological services across a broad range of settings including schools, supporting children and young people borough-wide and beyond.
This role offers excellent CPD opportunities and partnership working with CAMHS, Early Help, Social Care, specialist teachers, and health teams. You will develop skills in Dynamic Assessment, VIG, VERP, and technology-based assessments using Q-interactive and Q-Global. Camden has a dynamic education community with many good and outstanding schools. Your work will span from individual assessments and interventions to supporting strategic borough-wide developments. Camden values early intervention and the vital contribution of educational psychologists in diverse contexts.
This post requires an Enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Camden also offers the DBS update service.
Contract types available: 2 Permanent and 2 Fixed Term/Secondment positions for 12 months. Anticipated start dates are circa January 2026 and 1st September 2026.
Experience
Experience working within educational psychology or related psychological frameworks across the 0–25 age range is essential. Confidence working in a variety of community settings is required. Experience in delivering psychological interventions, consultation, assessment, and supporting settings to implement and review interventions for vulnerable children, including those with SEND and children who are Looked After, is highly desirable.

You will have an excellent understanding of SEND and Equalities legislation and a sound knowledge of children's psychological development. You should be motivated to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and committed to inclusive practice and early intervention. You will be adaptable, creative, and able to contribute to both individual and strategic levels of service delivery.
Qualifications
A qualification in Educational Psychology (Doctorate or Masters) permitting Graduate Registration with the British Psychological Society is essential. Current HCPC Registration is required, or you must be a Year 3 trainee anticipating HCPC registration in the autumn term.
