About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. As a Public Health Engineer, you will design public health systems to concept stage, ensuring compliance with business, statutory, legal, and contractual requirements for government programs. You will also take on a Technical Assurance Management role to ensure design principles are maintained by contractors throughout design development and construction phases. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients in the tender process, conducting condition surveys, and managing handovers.

You will work on a variety of government and public frameworks, contributing to key operational and embodied carbon strategies where necessary, and oversee successful project delivery acting as a client technical advisor. You will manage deliverables through yourself and direct reports, provide and manage design development as per contract requirements, collaborate with wider design disciplines, client personnel, and construction teams, and assist with the production of reporting information. Attendance and participation in client meetings and design workshops will be required.

In addition, you will govern the work outputs of direct reports to ensure timeliness, scope, and quality, manage their training, appraisals, salary reviews, and career development, and develop the team in areas such as C2P, digital, and net zero carbon in line with company directives. You will engage with business improvement initiatives and work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during project delivery.
