About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Research Governance Specialist to join our dynamic R&D non-commercial team. This role involves working alongside other Research Governance Specialists to manage a diverse team, develop department policies, and oversee a portfolio of complex trials and studies. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with national regulations and maintain up-to-date processes in the evolving regulatory landscape. You will be responsible for the setup of complex and high-risk studies, including clinical trials of medicinal products and device trials, while providing support and guidance to researchers.

Experience
Significant post-qualification work experience (5 years +) in medical/clinical research or an R&D department. In-depth knowledge of HRA, MHRA, and NHS Ethics processes. Experience in managing administrative projects and developing R&D guidelines, SOPs, and policies.

About you
You will be an experienced line-manager with excellent communication skills, able to support and influence world-class researchers. A highly organized and methodical approach to work is essential, along with the ability to project manage service improvements and develop junior team members. You should possess a pragmatic and solution-focused mindset, with attention to detail and strong writing skills to convey complex regulations in simple guidance.

Qualifications
Relevant degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience is essential. A postgraduate qualification is desirable.
