ABOUT THE ROLE As a Recovery Worker, you will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our Residents and Participants back into the community. Providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders. Working hours: Flexible working ABOUT THE SERVICE Equinox Brent supports those recovering from mental health struggles, we provide 24 hour support at three sites as well as a 10 – 6 service. Residential services in Brent provide a recovery focused service to both, men and women with long term mental health difficulties. The service works with the user to increase their independence and move them on into lower support accommodation. We work closely with various agencies to support improve life skills, increase social inclusion, and help with individuals improve their quality of life. ABOUT YOU We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion and felt purpose to help people, challenge stigma, and make a real difference to people’s lives! We are looking for a team player, driven to provide high quality care and support to others, an effective communicator who is able to build rapport with others from various backgrounds. You will be compassionate, supportive, and empowering to others, whilst able to form effective, positive and motivational relationships. OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Support a caseload of Residents and Participants (R&P), contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments and reviews. Participate in, and encourage R&Ps to participate in the running and development of projects, initiatives, training and volunteering. Ensure R&Ps understand their rights and responsibilities, with access to the right tools and resources to support them back into society and build networks. Develop strong internal and external relationships. Provide advice, guidance, and support, including life skills training. Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis. You may need to attend appointments alongside R&Ps when required. Admin duties will vary, including using our Salesforce Inform system to update records ongoing. Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. KEY CRITERIA What we are looking for: IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others What we would like, but not essential: Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals Further details of the responsibilities and key criteria can be found in the JDPS attached.
