About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Revenues Officer to join our Revenues Service team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering an efficient and accurate service across Council Tax, Business Rates and BID Levy, supporting the collection of income from initial billing through to recovery and enforcement. You will provide advice and guidance to residents, businesses and partners, make informed decisions on accounts, process discounts and exemptions, and contribute to achieving excellent collection rates while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.
About the Team
You will join a professional and supportive Revenues Service within the Environment and Resident Experience Directorate, working alongside experienced Revenues Officers and Team Managers across billing, collection, recovery and enforcement functions. The team is committed to delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service, working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to support residents, maximise revenue and ensure fair and consistent application of legislation.

Experience
Experience within Revenues, Council Tax or Business Rates is advantageous but not essential.

Excellent communication and customer service skills, strong literacy and numeracy, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment. You will be confident analysing information, solving problems and making sound decisions while handling sensitive and confidential data. The successful candidate will be able to interpret and apply legislation, communicate complex information clearly, work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and maintain a methodical, organised approach to their workload.
