About the Role
Join the BBC’s Technology & Media Operations team to help shape the future of our corporate systems. In this role, you will influence strategy and drive innovation across finance platforms, focusing on SAP and partner solutions. You will contribute to delivering and managing complex technical changes and optimising systems to maximise value and align with BBC business goals. This is an exciting opportunity to support the evolution of the BBC’s financial systems through technology that creates meaningful impact.

You will be part of a small, established team working in a rapidly developing and transformative space. The team is engaged in a significant transformation within Finance and Procurement, offering opportunities to learn new skills and best practices that drive efficiency and value for money.

Your key responsibilities include working within the Data Analytics, Planning and Consolidation team to combine business understanding, SAP expertise and data engineering skills to help BBC stakeholders realise greater value from their data and reporting investments. You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, support and influence best practices, partner with data owners to modernise reporting capabilities, and work with outsourced technology partners to resolve incidents. Additionally, you will contribute to technical roadmaps, coordinate small to medium technical changes, and support larger projects with technical change elements to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.

Experience
- Extensive experience in data extraction, modelling, transformation and reporting in SAP using tools such as SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, BEx, SAP Analysis for Office (AFO), SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and SAP BPC.
- Experience with SAP functions including FI, CO, SD, HR, Intercompany, Tax, Procurement, Financial Statement, Financial Planning and Consolidation processes, with understanding of data structures and extraction methods.
- Proven ability to provide guidance to technical and functional stakeholders, translating project, user and product requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience reviewing and revising technical and functional documentation based on SAP best practices.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels, lead requirements gathering, and present solution options aligned with BBC Engineering Strategies.
- Experience working in small teams, managing complex technical issues, multiple priorities, conflict resolution, and influencing project delivery.

Qualifications
- Desired experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SuccessFactors, SAP Netweaver Portal, Ariba, Concur, Blackline, and SAP Business Data Cloud.
- Understanding of media-specific financial operations such as Production Accounting is advantageous.
- Awareness of security, access control, and segregation of duties in system design.
- Ability to clearly write and communicate complex technology solutions.
