About the Role
Join the BBC’s Technology & Media Operations team to help shape the future of our corporate systems. In this role, you will influence strategy and drive innovation across finance platforms, focusing on SAP and partner solutions. You will contribute to delivering and managing complex technical changes and optimising systems to maximise value and align with BBC business goals. You will be part of a small, established team working in a rapidly developing and transformative space. The role offers the chance to acquire new skills and best practice ways of working that drive efficiency and value for money. The team is engaged in a significant transformation within Finance and Procurement, and you will be a key contributor to this journey.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact:
- Coordinate small to medium technical changes by clarifying requirements from BBC Business Users and managing the change process with outsourced technology providers, including documentation review, technical build, testing, production deployment, and post go-live support
- Act as a trusted team member on larger projects with technical change elements, collaborating closely with Project Management and stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing support and influence focused on best practice and achievable goals
- Work with outsourced technology partners and internal stakeholders to support incident resolution across varied severity levels
- Define technology roadmaps, engineering standards, support models, and operational practices for enterprise procurement and supplier-management platforms
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and governance to engineering teams, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, supportable, scalable, and aligned with long-term business and technology strategies

Experience
- Extensive experience as a senior technical specialist and subject matter expert across Source-to-Pay (S2P) platforms including SAP ECC6, SAP S4/Hana, SAP Ariba S2P Solutions, SAP MDG, Icertis CLM, and OpenText VIM
- Strong technical knowledge of integrations between SAP ECC6/SAP S/4HANA and associated procurement, finance, reporting, identity, and third-party platforms using APIs, middleware, IDocs, web services, and event-driven architectures
- Deep understanding of S2P business processes and enterprise application integration including sourcing, contract lifecycle management, supplier onboarding & risk management, purchasing, invoice management, master data governance, and end-to-end procure-to-pay processes
- Proven ability to align technology solutions with business processes, industry best practices, and organisational strategy, translating business, user, product, and project requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Extensive experience reviewing, authoring, and assuring architectural, technical, functional, integration, and support documentation, ensuring alignment with SAP and industry best practices
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills with the ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with senior business leaders, product owners, architects, engineers, suppliers, and delivery teams
- Proven ability to lead resolution of complex technical challenges across large-scale, business-critical S2P platforms and integrations
- Comfortable operating in agile, multidisciplinary teams, balancing multiple priorities and competing demands, managing technical risk and conflict, and influencing successful outcomes

Experience with transformations involving SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba modules, enterprise integration platforms, cloud architectures, identity and access management, data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
