Senior Accounting Officer £42,840 - £46,041 per annum We are looking to recruit a Senior Accounting Officer in the Finance Team supporting Children and Young People’s Services. The Council's Finance Department is now seeking to recruit a Senior Accounting Officer who is looking to progress to the next stage of their career. You’ll join an organisation that is striving to transform the way services are delivered, working across children’s social care and education finance teams. You will also play a key role in reviewing and reconciling children’s social care databases financial modelling and forecasting of care costs undertaking monthly budget monitoring, including supporting, challenging and engaging budget managers ensuring the general ledger is accurate and up to date monitoring and reconciling grant receipts and payments monthly allocation of funding to schools co-ordinating and reviewing bank reconciliations, budget monitoring returns, and year-end and other statutory returns from local schools closure and consolidation of accounts as part of year-end preparation of statutory accounts reviewing and improving processes and financial controls You’ll have completed level 4 AAT with previous experience of working in a finance role undertaking financial analysis. You will also demonstrate ability to work across teams, good oral and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills particularly MS Excel.
