About the Role
This is an individual contributor role responsible for the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using C++ and Java within a defined product, platform, or client solution area. The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, strong ownership of medium‑to‑large technical components, and adherence to established architectural and engineering standards. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, product managers, and delivery teams to implement technical changes that improve business and client outcomes. While not an architect or people manager, the role requires strong technical judgment, mentoring of junior engineers, and meaningful contribution to solution design and delivery excellence.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining C++ and Java applications and services to deliver robust, performant, and maintainable solutions. You will implement technical changes and enhancements to improve platform stability, scalability, and client outcomes, collaborate with product owners and business partners to translate requirements into effective technical designs, and build solution‑level extensions and component enhancements in line with LSEG architectural principles and coding standards.
You will take technical ownership of key components, ensuring high code quality, strong test coverage, and operational readiness. Supporting the full software lifecycle, you will diagnose and resolve complex issues, participate actively in code reviews and design discussions, and provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Adherence to SDLC standards, engineering controls, and quality metrics is essential to maintain healthy team engineering baselines.
Joining LSEG means being part of a global financial markets infrastructure and data provider dedicated to driving financial stability, empowering economies, and enabling sustainable growth. You will contribute to a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement within a diverse and inclusive workplace.
