About the Role
This role sits within our in-house Mechanical & Electrical Subcontractor, Mace MEP. You will be the lead Senior Commercial Manager on a multi-million pound project in Central London. Your responsibilities include cost management of complex MEP works packages, managing risk and opportunity to ensure profit on packages and the overall project. You will support the Senior Commercial team members in administering monthly commercial procedures such as Cost Value Reports.
You will manage and provide leadership to a team of MEP Managers and Professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools, capabilities, and responsibilities are in place to deliver MEP area plans and achieve excellence. Key duties include addressing subcontractor contractual claims and changes, producing monthly client applications, approving invoices and issuing Interim Payment Certificates (IPC), drafting necessary MEP technical and contractual correspondence, and commercially managing MEP design consultants and specialist fees. You will ensure the MEP site team operates within commercial and legal procedures and agreements, and maintain effective communication with clients and subcontractors.

Experience
- Experience working in an MEP commercial role
- Experience leading MEP projects from a commercial aspect
- Chairing monthly project cost report and risk meetings
- Strong financial skills and commercial acumen
- Understanding of project construction plans and measurement to assess variations
- Networking with clients and contractor supply chain
- Membership of senior management and safety leadership teams
- Working on a wide range of contracts
- Leading commercial management teams
- Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams
- Building relationships with key stakeholders
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations shape project outlooks

- Contract law savvy with the ability to mitigate risk and manage key clauses

Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent
- CSCS card
- Membership of MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
