As Senior Consultant, Healthcare Strategy and Planning (HS+P) you will be joining an established post within the WSP Healthcare Strategy & Planning team. In conjunction with the Director and other colleagues you will help achieve the overall business plan to grow and develop strategic healthcare planning as a leading-edge offering to external clients, including NHS organisations and private sector clients in the UK and overseas.

The role is client facing, and you will be expected to be a leader within the HS+P team in developing healthcare strategy and planning expertise, processes and procedures to ensure a quality assured service delivery. You will be responsible for the delivery and performance of healthcare strategy and planning advisory services of varying breadth and scope, managing those projects, and leading teams or working as part of a team on major commissions.

You will be expected to contribute to an annual new business development target in relation to the development of a portfolio of consultancy clients. You will also contribute to and provide support in preparing tender responses and delivering presentations for new business opportunities.

Experience
Extensive knowledge of health services and/or health facilities gained through clinical practice, working in other roles within health providers, or as a professional contributing to healthcare projects. Experience undertaking technical inputs such as strategic analysis, demand and capacity modelling, models of care, clinical and functional briefing, schedules of accommodation and design reviews.

Proven ability to deliver a wide range of projects related to clinical and operational strategy development, clinical and operational health services and facilities planning, employing and developing tools and methods.

Client relationship management experience, including acting as account manager for existing and new clients.

Experience leading clinical stakeholder engagement sessions and managing engagement programmes.

Strong report writing skills, including preparing reports, briefs, business case contributions, and peer reviewing colleagues’ work.

Data analytics skills to assess health service needs and demands at various levels and scales.

Ability to develop creative, solutions-focused approaches to service needs, options assessment, and quality assurance.

Experience working with clients and project teams to ensure investment proposals consider productivity gains and facilitate service transformation.

Ability to keep abreast of healthcare planning trends and research, contributing to thought leadership.

Experience working across diverse cultures and regions, sharing best practices and tailoring solutions to local needs.

Strong organisational skills managing project inputs, budgets, and team workloads.

Contributing to new business development, bid and tender preparation.

Qualifications
