About the Role
At Balfour Beatty, we're shaping the future of infrastructure. As a Senior Craftsperson - Mechanical, you'll play a key role in delivering temporary mechanical site services on the Old Oak Common project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical craftsperson who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and takes pride in delivering quality work in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities include supporting the planning and day-to-day delivery of temporary mechanical site services, working closely with Project Engineers and Supervisors, following Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Task Briefing Sheets and toolbox talks, and proactively identifying hazards and implementing controls. You will assist in maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance, inspect and maintain plant, equipment and small tools before use, and support quality assurance activities including BIM Field 360 inspections.

Additionally, you will monitor workmanship promoting a Right First Time culture, report non-conformances, support continuous improvement initiatives, review plant and tool requirements, identify future site needs, highlight opportunities for efficiency improvements and waste reduction, and contribute to delivering Balfour Beatty's sustainability commitments.

Experience
- Valid CSCS Card
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2 in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Experience of temporary mechanical installations
- Good understanding of current health and safety legislation
- Experience delivering high-quality mechanical installations on major projects (desirable)
- Experience managing work packages from commencement through to handover (desirable)

Qualifications
- NVQ/SVQ Level 2 in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)
