About the Role
BBC Studios is a globally renowned media company, creating and distributing some of the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content. Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world. Over the last five years, BBC Studios has evolved significantly, expanding into new business areas and developing the data capabilities needed to support a modern organisation. This role is central to driving data education and supporting the organisation’s cultural evolution. You will act as a champion for the Data Science team, promoting its work and building understanding of the value data-driven insights can bring to BBC Studios. Your work will span a variety of projects, such as automated decision-making for commercial News or developing synthetic audiences as alternatives to traditional surveys for TV commissioning. You will also help develop capabilities like automated tagging and metadata solutions to enhance discoverability and recommendations.
You will select appropriate algorithmic approaches and data sources to solve problems, implement solutions from proof of concept to production, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to communicate insights, impact, and recommendations. Staying up to date with the latest developments in generative AI and applying them where appropriate will also be part of your role.
