About the Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Package Manager to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London – part of the largest construction project in the UK. HS2’s new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London. Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
You will work alongside the existing Senior Electrical Package Manager / MEP Lead in assessing information provided by the client and design partner, proposing design optimisations and construction content improvements, supporting the production of the construction programme, and producing construction methodologies particularly for consenting purposes. You will lead the definition of the package scope and participate in planning, procurement, and technical input for packages including Electrical, Fire Detection and Alarm, CCTV, WiFi, Radio, Telephony, Customer Information, and Station Management systems.
Your responsibilities will include managing the Electrical, Fire, and Communications elements associated with the entire development; managing appointed sub-contractors delivering these systems; ensuring scope delivery meets exemplary standards in Health and Safety, Quality, Environment, and Sustainability; maintaining and improving quality standards; championing innovation and new ways of working; providing input and management across design, constructability, consents, third-party approvals, procurement, construction, snagging, handover, and assurance deliverables; and fostering open, transparent, and professional relationships with all stakeholders to fulfil the construction partner role to HS2’s satisfaction.

Experience
- Proven project management experience
- Knowledge of NEC Contract
- Experience working in or around a rail environment
- Demonstrated capability in coordinating multiple processes and workstreams including design, consents, and procurement to minimise package delivery risk
