Job overview A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our Essentia Workforce team for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Business Partnering function. You will be the first point of contact for Essentia managers across all sites and services, providing first line preventative and effective HR support and you will work to resolve local workforce issues, produce and analyse a range of data, as well as drive a pro-active response to our workforce metrics. Flexible working arrangements are available; however, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site across various Essentia locations for a minimum of three days per week. Interviews are scheduled for w/c 16th December 2024. Main duties of the job We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and agile HR professional, who is keen to take their next step in their career. You must be passionate about providing people focused support to a range of stakeholders across operational teams. Be a collaborator, adaptable to the needs of the business and able to support in the creation and implementation of people plans that support the wider business strategy. To be successful you will need to be resilient and initiative-taking, you thrive on challenge, and you strive to make a positive difference in your work You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to address complex and sensitive issues with staff at all levels. You will need to display tenacity and resilience and possess the ability to inspire confidence in the managers you support. You must be able to evidence 'hands on' experience within a HR setting operating in a complex and challenging employment environment. Ideally you will have a good working knowledge of the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions of service. We are looking for someone with a high quality grounding in providing initial first point of contact advice on sickness absence, disciplinary processes, grievance, capability and dignity at work issues. Detailed job description and main responsibilities · To act as the first point of contact for the Essentia workforce team and to take responsibility for elements of the service provision to support the HR Business Partner and Head of Workforce – Essentia. Develop effective relationships with directorates to influence, challenge and support service delivery and people strategies and monitor success. To provide proactive, effective and appropriate guidance when required on the interpretation and implementation of Trust policies and procedures Identify areas of concerns and proactively develop solutions to support change, this may include role re-design, skill mix reviews and vacancy management. To work in partnership with other members of the HR team (e.g. Workforce Relations, Recruitment, Medical Staffing, Payroll) to ensure provision of consistent HR service. To work with the Human Resources Business Partner and Senior Managers on leading the design, development, planning and implementation of service changes To monitor key performance indicators (KPI) using the workforce performance dashboard, producing regular reports in liaison with the HR Business Partner and Head of Workforce – Essentia. Support Essentia staff in delivering their workforce objectives by providing insight into workforce issues through workforce data and reports, both qualitatively and quantitatively, this will include the detailed analysis and action planning related to emerging trends. To plan and deliver the agreed training programmes, including the Essentia Induction programme in conjunction with the HR Business Partner. Analyse both the Essentia Survey and Trust Staff Survey data, arranging focus groups with Essentia managers to address key trends and themes and with the HR Business Partner, devise an appropriate initiatives to address concerns raised by staff and to evaluate success of the initiative in an appropriate timeframe. To ensure continuing, personal and professional development, taking ownership and accountability for staying up-to-date and professionally registered with the CIPD. Ensure equality and diversity is underpinned in all areas of the HR services provided. Person specification Qualifications / Education Essential criteria Degree level education or equivalent demonstrable experience. CIPD Qualified (Minimum Grad. CIPD) Evidence of continued learning/development Previous experience Essential criteria Experience of working in a challenging, busy HR environment with competing demands. Experience of coaching and training managers in HR issues Experience of interpreting and advising on terms and conditions, policies and procedures Skills Essential criteria Excellent verbal and written communication; able to communicate clearly and effectively on a range of highly complex workforce issues Able to analyse and interpret complex data into meaningful business intelligence Excellent presentation skills able to communicate highly complex management information to large and small groups Able to work well under pressure and prioritise own work Excellent organisational skills; able to meet deadlines which may have changing priorities. In depth and expert knowledge of employment legislation and good practice Computer literate, with a demonstrable operating level in all Microsoft packages. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel required to create pivot tables In depth and specialist knowledge of generalist HR issues.
