About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a comprehensive range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care nationally. The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, teaching, and research, with a commitment to delivering high quality, safe patient care.

The Senior Management Accountant role is based within the NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP), hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’. NHS LPP supports NHS organisations to achieve best value and efficiency through collaborative procurement and commercial innovation. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality financial management, strategic analysis, and reporting to support effective decision-making across the partnership.

Working closely with the Senior Finance Manager, Finance Manager, and Category Leads, you will provide expert financial advice, produce management accounts, and ensure robust budgetary control and forecasting. You will maintain financial integrity, ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions, and contribute to strategic financial planning aligned with organisational objectives.

The role involves leading the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial plans, producing timely management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary. You will act as the principal finance partner to designated budget holders, providing challenge and support on budgets, forecasts, business plans, service developments, cost improvement schemes, and option appraisals.

Additional responsibilities include identifying financial risks and savings opportunities, preparing financial modelling and scenario analysis, monitoring income and expenditure, supporting income management and cashflow forecasting, and ensuring strong financial governance and contract oversight. You will also prepare and present financial reports to non-financial managers, senior leaders, and external stakeholders, supporting Executive, Board, and regulatory reporting requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a centre of commercial excellence delivering sustainable cost and service improvements primarily within the London NHS economy and beyond.
