About the Role
Southwark Council is the largest local authority social landlord in London, managing 55,000 homes and serving a diverse and growing population. The Youth & Play Service provides positive activities borough-wide for young people aged 11 to 19 years (up to 25 years with SEN) and delivers Adventure Playgrounds for children aged 8 to 15 years across various youth centres and playgrounds. The service also manages the Youth Parliament, a commissioning programme of grants, a digital youth offer (One Hub), and strategic partnerships with statutory and voluntary sectors.

The Senior Playworker will lead and coordinate youth-related programmes across departments to raise the profile of services for young people in Southwark, ensuring no young person is left behind. The role focuses on placing young people at the heart of service design, ensuring facilities are high quality, young people friendly, and meet their needs to help them fulfil their potential.

The post holder will work independently at times and receive regular supervision to deliver high quality, modern, and customer-focused services to young people in the borough.
