The Growth Delivery Unit (GDU) drives delivery of the Chancellor’s priorities and supports the government’s number one priority: growth. The team combines policy, analytical, project management, and data science skills to monitor policy progress, identify delivery barriers, and intervene to overcome them. The role is high-profile and fast-paced, working closely with ministers, special advisers, and senior officials.

The post-holder will lead a sub-team monitoring priority projects, identifying risks, and solving delivery problems. Responsibilities include leading one of GDU’s priority projects, developing project plans, working across government to develop practical solutions, managing relationships, and communicating updates to senior stakeholders. The role requires strategic thinking, excellent judgement, creativity, and leadership, including line management of an SEO policy adviser.

HM Treasury is a friendly, inclusive workplace with a strong team spirit, operating across multiple UK locations with a hybrid working approach. This role requires a minimum of 60% office attendance and can only be worked within the UK.

Experience
Demonstrable ability to deliver consistently high-quality work in a busy and uncertain environment, with strong planning and prioritisation skills. Experience of working collaboratively across large networks to solve problems and influence outcomes is essential. Strategic judgement balancing delivery, fiscal, economic, and political considerations is required.
