About the Role
Are you an experienced social worker looking for an exciting new challenge? Join the Permanency team at Bromley as a Senior Practitioner within the Fostering South East Hub, a collaborative initiative involving the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich, and Southwark. This innovative project, funded by the Department for Education, supports the Government's national strategy to recruit an additional 10,000 foster carers.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will be based at the central Hub in Greenwich while continuing to undertake Form F assessments on behalf of your local authority. Your role will involve assessing, training, supporting, and supervising foster carers, kinship carers, and supported lodgings hosts in line with relevant Regulations, National Minimum Standards, and good practice.

Bromley Children’s Social Care is committed to outstanding social work practice and is currently three years into a Service Transformation programme focused on improving outcomes for children and families. You will join a warm, friendly, and enthusiastic team dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

The role includes undertaking a range of assessments such as Connected Persons, Special Guardianship, Form F, and Non-Agency assessments, providing Supervising Social Work support to temporarily approved carers, conducting home visits, attending meetings and events, and completing office-based work.

Experience
Appropriate and relevant post-qualification experience in children and family placements, fostering, and kinship care within statutory, voluntary, or independent sector organisations.

- Approachable, enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work in partnership with multiple agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Proficient user of IT software.
- Ability to keep accurate records and follow policy and documentation procedures.

Qualifications
Professional qualification such as Degree, Masters, C.Q.S.W., or Diploma in Social Work is essential.
