Senior Property Surveyor


Location
London Borough of Lewisham - primarily based at Laurence House with a hybrid working approach (office and home).
Hours
Full time with weekend working required.
Salary
£57,495 - £59,574 per annum (PO6). All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point for the grade unless matching current salary with evidential proof.
About the Role

As a Senior Property Surveyor, you will take a leading role in tackling complex housing challenges by delivering high-quality surveying services across a diverse residential portfolio. You will manage complex cases involving disrepair, damp, and structural issues, ensuring accurate diagnosis, robust specifications, and effective resolution.
Working closely with contractors and internal teams, you will oversee the quality, compliance, and value for money of repair and maintenance works, ensuring all activity meets statutory and regulatory requirements.
You will act as a technical expert within the service, providing advice, supporting decision-making, and contributing to the management of legal cases and customer escalations.
The role includes monitoring contractor performance, identifying trends from property data, and using this insight to inform service improvements and asset planning.
Additionally, you will support the development of junior staff, promote high professional standards, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the repairs and maintenance service.

Experience
Proven experience in property surveying with a focus on managing complex cases such as disrepair, damp, and structural issues. Experience in overseeing contractor performance and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements is essential.

Qualifications
A valid driving licence is required.
