About the Role
We are looking for 2x Senior Social Workers with experience working with families and children who have suffered Domestic Abuse. The post holders will support the Social Care Teams in delivering good outcomes for Children impacted by Domestic Abuse (DA) and assist in the delivery of the CYPS Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan. The Senior Social Workers will also mentor and coach our Children and Young Peoples Domestic Violence Advisors (CIDVA) to provide a range of opportunities for children affected by DA. Additionally, the post holders will be responsible for case holding the most complex DA cases.

Overall Purpose of the Job
1. To manage a caseload of complex cases, particularly domestic abuse, demonstrating initiative and applying high standards to deliver good outcomes for children impacted by DA.
2. To support the delivery of the CYPS Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan, prioritizing a trauma-responsive, systemic, relational, and anti-oppressive domestic abuse response within CYPS, coordinated across services and accessible to all children and families.
3. To supervise student social workers in the role of Practice Educator.
4. To mentor and support other practitioners in the team through coaching, advice, and shadowing on visits or in meetings.
5. To lead positive interventions that prevent deterioration in health and wellbeing while safeguarding individuals at risk of abuse or neglect.
6. To contribute to the Newham Together Vision, including the implementation of our Strategic Improvement Plan for Children’s Services, the Children and Young People’s plan, and the Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan.
7. To deliver a restorative, relational approach to practice and supervision, utilizing systemic tools and interventions within the Newham Together Practice Framework.
8. To embed our restorative approach to foster an organizational culture where social work can thrive.
9. To collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve our service plans and priorities around Domestic Abuse.
10. To champion our priorities to improve the lives of children, families, and care leavers.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with families and children affected by Domestic Abuse is essential.

Qualifications
A relevant social work qualification and registration with the appropriate regulatory body are required.
