About the Role
We are seeking two skilled and passionate Senior Social Workers to join the London Borough of Newham’s Domestic Abuse Hub on a fixed term 12-month contract. This newly developing service focuses on providing a direct response to children as victims of domestic violence and abuse. As an exceptional social worker with at least 4 years post-qualifying experience working with children and families facing complex challenges, you will bring significant knowledge of Violence against Women and Girls research and practice approaches. Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supervising staff is essential.
In this role, you will be integral to delivering the Hub’s services and have the opportunity to influence and develop practice aligned with LB Newham’s approach. You will support Children and Young People’s Domestic Violence Advisors (CIDVA) to offer a range of recovery opportunities for children affected by domestic abuse and collaborate closely with Social Care Teams to deliver direct work. Additionally, you will contribute to the delivery of the Domestic Abuse Delivery Model Action Plan, embedding a trauma-responsive, systemic, relational, and anti-oppressive response within Children and Young People’s Services (CYPS).
Experience
At least 4 years post-qualifying experience working with children and families with complex challenges and victim/survivors of domestic abuse. Proven knowledge of relevant research and practice approaches in Violence against Women and Girls. Experience in coaching, mentoring, or supervising staff.

Able to champion priorities with partners and stakeholders to improve outcomes for children, families, and care leavers.
Qualifications
Relevant social work qualification and registration. Experience or willingness to act as a Practice Educator supervising student social workers.
