About the Role
Erith Family Time Centre delivers bespoke family time for looked after children and their families. Family time sessions support the maintenance of positive relationships between a child and their non-resident family members wherever possible. Parents are supported practically and emotionally to make supervised family time sessions a positive experience.
The role involves greeting parents, children, and their carers, creating a positive environment that supports contact between parents and their children, and ensuring good information is available for the family. The supervisor will discuss the contact service and agreement forms with parents.
Obtaining feedback from service users to ensure continued development and improvement of the service is also a key responsibility.
Responsibilities include supervising family time between looked after children and their parents, including families where care proceedings are ongoing. Sensitivity and appropriate support must be offered to children and their parents. Reports of observations must be made and social work staff contacted as required. Information should be recorded professionally.
The supervisor will attend supervisory meetings, team meetings, and training as required, carry out duties within the Centre in accordance with health and safety regulations, liaise with other professionals, and report any concerns or safeguarding issues that arise.
This role is customer-facing and requires a command of spoken English sufficient for effective performance.
Experience
Experience working with children and families in a supportive environment is desirable. Sensitivity to families involved in care proceedings is essential.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults is essential.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in childcare, health and social care, or a related field is required. Appointment to this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
