About the Role
Join the London Borough of Newham and help build a fairer community. We are a vibrant, dynamic, and culturally rich borough with a young population and limitless potential. Our Children with Disabilities (CwD) Social Work Team provides statutory services to children and families living with disability. This role involves working a varied caseload including new referrals, Children in Need (CiN), Child Protection (CP), and looked after cases. The work is often long term and rewarding, focusing on sustaining and improving the quality of life for young people and their families.
Our practice is underpinned by Systemic and Restorative approaches, placing high quality relationships at the heart of our work. We are committed to an inclusive culture that challenges discrimination and injustice to make Newham a fairer place for children and families to live, learn, and thrive.
We value your wellbeing and offer a flexible hybrid working model, modern office space, a flexible working policy, and clinical support to help you deliver your best work.
As part of our Family Support and Safeguarding Service, you will be involved in meaningful social work practice that includes assessments, interventions, court work, and looked after children processes. This role offers the opportunity to build specialist knowledge and be an advocate for children and families who need it most.
