About the Role
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our exceptional Events Culinary team at a leading global investment bank in Central London. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, fine dining environment overseeing 29 private dining rooms and an events space catering for up to 1700 guests. You will have full autonomy across seasonal brochures, from breakfast to à la carte lunch to canapés, allowing you to bring your own flair and creativity to the menu.
As part of a passionate and dedicated team, you will take full responsibility for the Conference Centre kitchen, managing all food production, preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain the highest standards of quality. You will contribute to menu development and brochure writing, bringing innovation and trending ingredients to the offering. Cross-skilling in the Fine Dining kitchen and supporting senior chefs as needed will also be part of your role.
Key responsibilities include ensuring health and safety compliance, liaising with the Purchasing team for timely ordering, managing food production standards, costs, and menu planning, and maintaining a client-focused approach by being visible and approachable during service. You will also be influential in expanding operations and offerings, managing your section efficiently, and communicating effectively with your team to deliver outstanding service even under pressure.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Experience managing large events or conferencing with 500+ guests
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to lead and mentor a brigade of chefs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications
- NVQ qualification or equivalent
- Food Safety and Hygiene certification
- Strong knowledge of allergy management
