About the Role
The Specialist Support Worker will work with young people aged 10-17 years old who are at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system. The role focuses on prevention and supporting children and their families holistically to sustain positive outcomes. You will hold a caseload of young people referred into the service, carrying out timely assessments to identify support needs and creating intervention plans within a multi-agency environment. Regular interventions with children and families will include home visits, activities, or structured work to help them fulfil their potential. Building professional and positive relationships is key to enabling change and preventing offending behaviour. You will also deliver group work activities in schools and the community as required. This role is part of the Youth Justice Service within Early Help, working alongside the adolescent and schools teams in a vibrant, innovative, and caring environment that values its staff and strives to be outstanding for young people. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are supported, with managers who understand the needs of both the service and individuals.
