About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Join the London Borough of Merton's expanding Speech and Language Therapy Service and become part of a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs, including Developmental Language Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech sound disorders, selective mutism, social communication difficulties and complex SEND. Working across educational settings within the borough, you will collaborate closely with schools, families and multi-disciplinary professionals to support children and young people to achieve their full potential. You will provide specialist advice and consultation to school staff, deliver training, model effective strategies and contribute to inclusive practice across a range of settings. The role involves assessing, diagnosing and delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs, producing reports and recommendations to support educational outcomes and SEND provision, working collaboratively with schools, families, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure joined-up support, providing advice, consultation and training to education staff to build capacity within schools, supporting inclusive education and contributing to positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND, maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives. You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary SEND Integrated Service. This is an excellent opportunity for both newly qualified and experienced therapists. Requirements

Experience
Suitable for both newly qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapists. Experience working with children and young people with SEND is desirable but not essential as support and supervision are provided.

Qualifications
Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant professional registration. Newly qualified practitioners are encouraged to apply.
