St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Job overview The Dietetics Stores Clerk is responsible for receiving, storage, distribution and ordering of dietetic feed supplies for both hospital site of Guy’s and St Thomas’. You will be working alongside the full-time stores clerk ensuring stocks of specialist feeds are supplied to in-patient and out-patient areas of Guy's and St Thomas Hospitals. This role requires lifting heavy boxes and so needs a person who is physically fit. Main duties of the job 1. To ensure all trust wards and OP areas have adequate supplies of dietetic feeds required on a daily basis as requested by dietetic department staff 2. Order and distribute dietetic feed products on a regular daily basis. 3. Work with the pharmacy and stores departments, supply companies, dietetic and nursing staff to ensure stock levels are maintained 4. To use IT systems where required for stock control and ordering products following training for these systems 5. Carry out regular stock takes 6. Prepare and provide details to finance department on request and participate in the yearly stock take of all stock held within the department. 7. Ensure stock room is clean and tidy 8. Ensure stock in store room is rotated to prevent wastage 9. Check goods received against suppliers delivery note e.g. for accuracy of delivery and suitable shelf life. 10. Maintain safe working practices when unpacking, checking and storing goods 11. Any other relevant duties appropriate to the grade as requested by the Dietetic Services Manager. 12. Use supplier documentation to return incorrect or damaged goods etc. to the supplier for credit. Chasing queries, checking deliveries and identifying any discrepancies with orders 14. To respond to routine enquiries from both dietetics and ward staff in person or on the telephone in a polite, efficient and professional manner 15. Immediately report to management team any problems with dietetic feed deliveries or supply of products 16. To ensure that you remain up to date with your mandatory training to ensure the health, safety and security of patients and staff is maintained. 17. To attend and complete other training as necessary to develop the post holder in accordance with their needs and the needs of the service. 18.
