This Strategic Sourcing Manager role is pivotal in implementing the NHS LPP vision and strategy to become a world-class procurement partner for the NHS and wider public sector. It is a challenging and influential position contributing to the delivery and operation of a best-in-class procurement function.

The postholder will develop and lead strategic sourcing programmes for defined spend areas within high priority and emerging markets across the NHS and wider public sector. They will drive uptake of new NHS LPP routes to market, products, and services across NHS Trusts and other public sector organisations, supporting value for money procurement processes and delivering cost improvement programme (CIP) savings and efficiencies.

Key responsibilities include developing procurement solutions, managing end-to-end procurement processes, providing expert procurement advice, increasing uptake of NHS LPP routes to market, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, delivering savings targets, and ensuring compliance with legal and sustainability requirements.

The role operates within NHS LPP, hosted by Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and involves working collaboratively with a wide range of NHS and public sector stakeholders to deliver significant and sustainable cost and service improvements.

Experience
- Extensive public sector procurement experience including strategic sourcing, above threshold tendering, spend analytics, catalogue purchasing, and framework call-offs
- Proven experience creating and delivering strategic sourcing strategies for emerging markets
- Strong public sector customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Extensive knowledge of public procurement legislation and regulations
- Experience in analytics and management reporting
- Desirable: Experience working in a Trust procurement team and with an accredited NHSE framework host

Qualifications
- Essential: Professional procurement qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent extensive procurement and strategic sourcing experience
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Desirable: Prince 2 qualification or equivalent experience
