Location
Catford, Lewisham (Approximately 11 minute walk from Bellingham Station - Thameslink and Southeastern rail services). The service operates across two properties located in close proximity to each other with step free access.

Hours
22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (3 days a week). Specific days can be discussed with the hiring manager at interview.

About the Role
We are seeking a Substance Misuse Worker with experience in mental health and substance use to join our Catford team. Based in a 24-hour residential service, you will support adults with severe and enduring mental health needs through rehabilitation and recovery-focused support. Using your specialist knowledge, you will help residents and the team overcome personal challenges.

You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. As a specialist in comorbidity, you will support the team to achieve positive outcomes for residents. Key duties include:
- Undertaking joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.
- Setting up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to advise on interventions and approaches tailored to individual needs.
- Helping reduce episodes of crisis and assisting residents/participants to access alternative services to crisis support.
- Collaborating with support staff and clinical teams to provide guidance on interventions and approaches for comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.
- Supporting multi-disciplinary and wider community teams with advice, signposting, and move-on care planning.

Experience
- Specialist knowledge in supporting individuals with comorbid and complex needs.
- Previous experience in a similar role providing interventions, holistic assessments, and support for people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Ability to provide specialist support in risk assessment and risk management, particularly relating to harm minimisation, substance misuse, and mental health.
