37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with one Saturday every 3 months instead of a Friday on a rolling rota including shifts of 07:30 - 15:30, 09:00 - 17:00 and 11:30 - 19:30

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Mentor to join our service in West London. This role offers the opportunity to support women and children surviving domestic abuse within refuge accommodation, many of whom are living with trauma. As a Support Mentor, you will help provide a safe space and empower women on their healing journey, supporting them to feel secure in their independence, strengths, and skills.
Key responsibilities include supporting residents to achieve their goals, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities, and providing access to the right tools and networks. You will develop and encourage participation in projects and activities, empower decision-making, provide advice and life skills training, and recognise signs of deteriorating health to initiate appropriate interventions.
Experience
- Experience working with people from complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs
- Experience working with or strong understanding of domestic abuse and systemic barriers faced by women
- Ability to use, learn, and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
- Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, liaising effectively with stakeholders
