Location
London Borough of Lewisham. The Sensory Teachers Team is based in Kaleidoscope, a multi-disciplinary centre providing a comprehensive, integrated specialist service for children and young people with educational, health and social needs. The role is peripatetic, involving travel around Lewisham to visit children and young people in their homes and settings. A hybrid working model is offered, with some administrative tasks completed from home.

Hours
Permanent, part time (0.8 FTE).

Salary
£57,632 - £62,496 (Inner London U1 - U3 + TLR2 Minimum + SEN Maximum). Appointment will be offered at the candidate's current teachers' scale point, subject to evidential proof.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join an enthusiastic and dynamic central, peripatetic Sensory Teachers Team. You will work with children and young people from birth to 25 years old in a variety of settings. The role involves working collaboratively with parents and other professionals to support the development of the service and deliver high-quality education and support to deaf children and young people across Lewisham.

Requirements

Experience
Experience of peripatetic work is desirable but not essential.

You will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Commitment to collaborative working with parents and professionals and to the development of the service is essential.

Qualifications
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the Mandatory Qualification for Teachers of Deaf Children (TODs) are essential. This post is subject to a full Enhanced DBS check.
